For those of you who are visiting Scotland from abroad, there are quite a few different types of accommodation in Scotland. Here is what you can expect when you visit Scotland for your holiday or vacation:

Hotels - There are a wide variety of hotels throughout Scotland, ranging from smaller privately owned establishments right through to huge five star hotels. Regardless of the star rating of your hotel or the physical size you should expect nothing less than superb service from the place you have chosen to stay.

Bed And Breakfast (B&B) - This type of accommodation is not known in all countries and may seem a little strange to tourists who are not familiar with it. Bed and breakfast establishments are usually normal houses where the house owner charges money to stay the night followed by a breakfast in tthe morning. The huge advantage is that bed and breakfasts (B&B’s) are usually much cheaper than staying in hotels. Some B&B establishments in Scotland are quite large and may well offer dinner. Usually they have a residents lounge where you are able to watch TV or relax. B&B’s are very useful in Scotland in more remote or rural areas.

Guest Houses - A guest house is basically the same as a bed and breakfast apart from the size. in Scotland a guest house usually refers to a larger establishment, perhaps with five or six bedrooms as opposed to two or three found in a bed and breakfast. Guest houses in Scotland are sometimes licenced, meaning they have the right to sell alchohol and almost always have a residents lounge.

Hostels - Hostels are an economical way for people to stay the night in various places around Scotland. Usually associated with younger people or backpackers, youth hostels provide very basic accommodation, sometimes in a larger shared room to tourists travelling on a budget. Most Scottish towns and larger villages have a hostel of some sort.

Accommodation in Scotland - Whats The Good News?

The good news is that whether you are looking for hotels in Scotland, bed and breakfast accommodation, guest houses or hostels our main site has all these establishments and more. Visit our front page and run a search, then sort by price, distance, etc according to your needs.

We have a large variety of quality accommodation in Scotland.
