Whether you are on a girls’ shopping holiday or a romantic weekend, staying in a luxury hotel can be the component that makes your weekend special. Whenever you stay away from home it is important to wrap yourself up in the luxury of your stay. Boutique hotels provide a high standard of both service and luxury; they will make you feel special.

Whether you are going to Edinburgh or Glasgow for example, there are many boutique hotels on offer and there are so many things to do in these Scottish cities. By checking out Glasgow or Edinburgh classifieds you can also find hundreds of activities on offer in both of these cities.

The historical city of Edinburgh houses some stunning boutique hotels including the Missoni Hotel. This central hotel oozes style from every pore, from the kilt clad doormen to the enormous urns by the door. Every room is kitted out in the Missoni style, with brightly coloured walls and stunning furniture, all adding to the ambient atmosphere of your stay. The Edinburgh hotel promises a weekend of shopping, fine dining and above all an excellent night’s sleep. Tiger Lilly is on one of the most luxurious accommodation options in Edinburgh, and The George Street hotel is not just a great place to spend the night, it is houses a top notch restaurant and bar.

Le Monde hotel has a total of 18 individually designed rooms, which are all completed to the highest standard. Bathrooms in this hotel all feature rainfall showers and every room has its own personality. Every detail has been carefully thought out and designed to the highest standard.

Number Ten Edinburgh is the ultimate boutique hotel. By using only luxury bedding this hotel is guaranteed to provide a good night’s sleep. With furniture specially sourced from China this hotel screams opulence. The most luxurious room features a Jacuzzi suite, which would help create one of the most magical romantic weekends.

Malmaison, a former house of ill-repute, is a stunning example of how old buildings can be restored to create beautiful hotels. The careful renovation of the waterfront building in Leith was taken on by architects Jestico + Whiles. The stunning shore area has undergone a major revamp in recent years and now boasts several top class restaurants and bars.

Glasgow does not let the side down, with top notch boutique hotels on offer including the Marks hotel, a visit to the area can be combined with a trip to the theatre district of the city or even a bit of shopping. With shows running throughout the winter there is no better excuse to pamper yourself.

Saint Judes boutique hotel, who have won several awards for their stunning hotel, are ideally located for the main shopping area of the city. The inconspicuous hotel blends well into the surrounding area and the opulent inside in no way reflects the house like exterior.

Why not try one of these exclusive hotels for your weekend away? You will be overwhelmed by luxury.

A massive three-master equipped with a powerful steam turbine, the HMY Britannia was once a state-of-the-art vessel of the British Royal Navy. Primarily functioning as a Royal Yacht, it once carried various members of the British royal family and other dignitaries to numerous locations all over the world. Although the HMY Britannia was designed to be convertible into a hospital ship in war-times, it only sporadically saw alternative use — such as when it in 1986 evacuated over a thousand refugees from the civil war in Aden. It remained in service from its launch in 1953 to its decommissioning in 1997, after its last voyage to return the last governor of Hong Kong and the Prince of Wales to England following the handover of Hong Kong to China.

Since its retirement it has been permanently moored in the historical Port of Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland. There it is open to the public as an exhibition ship and tourist attraction. Apart from showcasing the typical features of a ship of her class, visitors can expect to get a look at the Queen’s Bedroom, the State Dining Room and the Royal Deck Tea Room, among other things. A Rolls-Royce Phantom V state car previously owned and used by the royal family is also onboard, on display in a for the purpose specially designed garage.

On our main website, you can browse and compare the prices of a huge range of Edinburgh Hotels to suit all budgets.

Edinburgh’s historical sites, modern shopping streets and rich cultural heritage make it a popular destination for short weekend trips. The four- and five-star hotels in the city centre tend to attract the most visitors, but for those who are unwilling to spend lots of money for a place to spend the night there are plenty of cheap hotels in Edinburgh that can help cutting down on traveling expenses. Smaller family-run guesthouses are particularly common in this city and are almost invariably budget-class accommodation. The following three are examples of central Edinburgh hotels that offer bed and breakfast for reasonable rates.

The Hedges, next to historic Calton Hill Park, The Hedges offers guest house accommodation and free Wi-Fi. Waverley rail station and Princes Street are a brief walk away.

The Osbourne Hotel, in the heart of Edinburgh city centre, this Georgian town house offers free Wi-Fi and good value accommodation. Princes Street is a 5-minute walk away.

The Links House Hotel, Overlooking Leith Links, this Georgian house offers refurbished rooms with LCD TVs and tea and coffee facilities. A bus stop is located outside, providing quick access to Edinburgh city centre.

Scottish airports sprang back into life today as UK airspace restrictions were relaxed. Over the past 6 days Edinburgh hotels have been full up with passengers unable to travel while hotels in Glasgow reported having to turn away many disgruntled travellers. Obviously the hotels closest to Scotland’s major airports saw most footfall but most inner city establishments were grateful for extra business also.

On the flip-side, if disruption to our air travel returns for prolonged periods it could seriously affect Scotland’s tourism this summer. Many of our visitors come from overseas but perhaps in their potential absence, more UK residents will decide to holiday in Bonnie Scotland in 2010..
